Italian luxury furniture brand Minotti celebrates its 70th anniversary, and this year also marks the 20th anniversary of Minotti London. I first met its CEO Anke Summerhill at London On Water 2018. The reason she had a tent at this annual boat festival was because she has also started supplying furniture for yachts. I then invited her to the Venus Awards Launch, hosted by its founder Tara Howard, a friend of mine.

When Anke invited me to the Minotti London 20th anniversary party, I just knew it would be a fabulous evening. And it was! I wore a retro-style paisley shirt with vintage denims, brown boots and belt, and those cool blue shades. You can see the full outfit in the pictures below.

Anke Summerhill
Anke looked amazing in a cream coloured satin gown. I wonder if it is a very light shade of tea-pink? And elegant and sophisticated woman, she has a certain presence. Tall, statuesque, stylish and charming, I think she is the perfect person to front the Minotti brand. I also met her husband John who is now stepping down from his position as CEO, so Anke has an extra pair of shoes to fill! She does have an amazing team of staff, most of whom I met at the party. The Minotti showroom in London Mayafir is rather spacious and airy, and has a relaxed and laid-back energy about it, which I felt, despite the buzz guests generated at the party.

Lots of interesting people from the world of design, architecture and interiors were present. Then there were those from banking and finance, law, I.T, engineering, various corporate sectors etc. I chatted to many people and finally realised that The Strikes band and myself were the only ones from the entertainment industry present.

Champagne flowed freely, while various other cocktails were also mixed and served. A delicious array of mouth-watering canapés kept endlessly doing the rounds. The waiters, waitresses and hostesses that worked throughout the evening were definitely one of the highlights of the evening. I bumped in to Tom, the waiter, for the second time as I had already met him at London On Water 2018, while he working working in the Minotti tent. Tom, as before, was doing the “Champagne Rounds!”

You can’t beat Minotti for cutting edge design and contemporary luxury furniture. If you’re interested in their products, make an appointment with Anke Summerhill and go visit the Minotti store in London Mayfair. Mention you heard about it from “Emmanuel Ray.”

And here are a few other things that happened at the party…

The Strikes, a strolling band based in Nice on the French Riviera, performed at the event. They travel all over the world. If you’re interested in hiring them, click here.

Guests just kept arriving and the party that began at 6.30pm, started to get really crowded by 8.30pm. I left at 8.45pm!

Lots of interesting people, but I couldn’t stay till too late. Here’re 2 mini video clips I captured on my phone.

And here’s John, stepping down from the company. Anke has some extra shoes to fill now!

And here are some more images from the party.
